1. Polyglot - someone who can speak or use several different languages.



EX: He became a dazzling polyglot, fluent in many European languages, including Swedish and Russian.



2. Ingenious - (of a person) very intelligent and skillful, or (of a thing) skillfully made or planned and involving new ideas and methods



EX: Johnny is so ingenious - he can make the most remarkable sculptures from the most ordinary materials.



3. Imitate - to behave in a similar way to someone or something else, or to copy the speech or behavior, etc. of someone or something.



EX: Some of the younger pop bands try to imitate their musical heroes from the past.



4. Dawn on sb - If a fact dawns on you, you understand it after a period of not understanding it.



EX: I was about to pay for the shopping when it suddenly dawned on me that I'd left my wallet on the street.



5. Statistics - a collection of numerical facts or measurements, as about people, business conditions, or weather.



EX: The statistics show that, in general, women live longer than men.



6. Gibberish - spoken or written words that have no meaning.

EX: I was so nervous, I just started talking gibberish.


7. Introverted - shy, quiet, and preferring to spend time alone rather than often being with other people.

EX: When she started school, she became cautious, quiet and introverted.






The second language is important to us. Whether it is to study abroad or work in the future is an indispensable ability, and how should we train and improve our language ability? Through this TED talk I know more about our second language learning. First we need to find some enjoyment, so that we can have the perseverance to support us to learn.The second is find effective methods which you can use systematically over the period of some time in the way which you enjoy. Third is create a system in our learning. The last one is patience. Through these points I can know which one I need to get and how to enhance my English, so listen TED talk we not only can get some knowledge, but also can kill time.
